Our last stop on the mini-promotional tour for Insomnia (if you’re still waiting for an invitation to listen and buy it, consider this link as specifically addressed to you—http://bit.ly/nenrDF) was last night in Springfield, MA at for a showcase called “Unsigned” at Montenia’s. Thanks to Darryl Moss, Mark and I got to play an intimate, 30-minute acoustic set for about 7 people. Okay, so it’s not a packed house in Manhattan; but, the people that were there were a lovely audience of friendly music lovers. When it became apparent that we were going to be playing for a near empty room, my response was simply “We play every show like we’re at The Garden”.
Mark and I have played for audiences numbering in the thousands, we’ve played on television, we’ve played for legends. We’ve also played in coffeehouses, bars, and dives—some of them with hardly a soul in attendance. We’re not divas. So, even though we travelled 3 1/2 hours each way, arriving back in NYC around 2AM, only to have to wake up this morning and lead worship at Glad Tidings, the new fans and connections we made last night were totally worth it—shout out to Ali, Amma, Darryl, and everyone else who has YET to add me on Facebook (**side-eye**) We also had the privilege of sharing the bill with Miss Gloria Ryann (we actually all rode to Springfield together with her manager and guitarist). What? you’ve never heard of her? Check it…http://bit.ly/mZkTSn
Happy Sunday! :-)
