The Last 6 Movies I’ve Seen…

You know I’m an addict to sitting in a dark room full of strangers, and being told a story as I eat Twizzlers (or Welch’s Fruit Snacks)…here’s what I’ve seen lately, and what I thought.
1) As always, George Clooney is awesome. I really enjoyed this movie, I thought the writing was really clever and natural—believable. I like that in a move. Great cast: Clooney, Ryan Gossling, my future wife Marisa Tomei, that shady guy from “Win Win”. The only complaint I had about this one is that it ended so abruptly to me.
2)

No shade on Ryan Gossling, and I know everyone is raving about this movie, but I was so bored I walked out of the theatre. I felt like I was just people watching.
3)

I had never really experienced Kevin Hart’s stand-up comedy. He’s super funny. If you see it, I’m sure you’ll leave sayin “You gon’ learn today!” What is kind of awesome about this flick is that Kevin seems to just be keepin’ it real about his life. When it says “Laugh at My Pain”, it’s serious. Dude’s got a story, and the ability he has to approach the tragedy of that story playfully is the triumph of Kevin Hart. The only thing I wasn’t into was the short film they put in at the end. It wasn’t nearly as funny as Kevin’s routine, and wasn’t necessary. It felt like that part near the end of the book, where you can tell the author is just trying to fill the quota for pages.
4)

As predictable as any other romantic comedy, not a very compelling story at all. The protagonist learns that women that have had more than 20 sexual partners usually cannot find a life-long relationship. She has had 19; so, determined not go over “20”, she goes digging through her romantic  history to find “the one”. What was I doing in this movie? The lady-friend chose it. We had fun, but any movie is enjoyable when you’re making fun of it with the right group of people.
5)

One of the best movies I’ve seen this year. A slice of real life. I got a little emotional on this one. See it.

6)

No!
