Sara Bareilles covers Beyonce’s “Single Ladies”: So it’s a little weird, but this is why I love Sara Bareilles. She’s one of the few artists in the past ten years who can write hit songs by herself. She’s an incredibly gifted writer—somehow managing to be approachable and edgy, intelligent and accessible all at the same time. Her interpretation of this song is also a testimony to her ability to be musically imaginative, but still hold the attention of our mixtape culture. I love her.
